Relationship between Dosha Imbalances and Diseases- Panch Mahabhoot

The entire creation is made up of five elements, similarly our body is also made up of five physical elements. Whatever is there in this entire universe is present in our body.

“Yad pinde tad brahmande” i.e. earth, water, fire, sky and air – these are the five elements from which every creation of the universe is made.

The composition of our bodies from these five elements punch out a collectively important matter. These five elements are called panch tatva or panch mahabhoot.

Panch Mahabhoot is a Sanskrit term that means “five great elements” or “five physical elements”. It is a concept that stems from Vedas, specially from Ayurveda and is used in Sanatan(Hinduism), Jainism, and Buddhism to describe the five basic elements that are the basis of all cosmic creation and all living beings. These elements are:

1) Akasha (ether or space): This is the most subtle and expansive element that pervades everything. It is the source of sound and the medium of communication. It is also the element of consciousness and spirituality. It is associated with the throat chakra and the sense of hearing.

2) Vayu (air or wind): This is the element of movement and change. It is responsible for the breath, the circulation, the nervous system, and the mental activity. It is also the element of creativity and flexibility. It is associated with the heart chakra and the sense of touch.

3) Agni (fire or light): This is the element of transformation and power. It is responsible for digestion, metabolism, vision, and intelligence. It is also the element of passion and courage. It is associated with the navel chakra and the sense of sight.

4) Jala (water or liquid): This is the element of cohesion and fluidity. It is responsible for the blood, the lymph, the saliva, and the emotions. It is also the element of love and compassion. It is associated with the sacral chakra and the sense of taste.

5) Prithvi (earth or solid): This is the element of stability and solidity. It is responsible for the bones, the muscles, the skin, and the physical structure. It is also the element of security and groundedness. It is associated with the root chakra and the sense of smell.

These five elements are not static, but dynamic and interrelated. They are constantly changing and influencing each other. They also correspond to different qualities, such as hot, cold, wet, dry, light, heavy, etc. The balance or imbalance of these elements affects the health and well-being of the individual and the environment.

The most important thing is that if there is a deficiency of any of the five elements, our body would suffer from disease. Not only this, if even one of the five elements is not present in the body, then the other four also do not remain. The very exit of any one element is death. These five elements are required for the soul to appear in the world in this body.

Now we understand that nature itself spoils the body. And nature itself has the ability to heal the body. Due to ignorance, humans use unnatural medicine for quick and immediate cure of disease. 🤢

As a result, the medicine taken by that person to cure the disease does not eliminate the disease but keeps it there as a medicine and after some time it comes out of the body in the form of some other disease. 😠

Similarly, man continues to suffer from millions of diseases. And destroys these beautiful bodies made of the five elements of nature. 😰

The qualities of the body are present only in these five elements of bulking. This is a method and by understanding it well, you can become your own doctor. One may or may not need a doctor to cure any disease. By this simple method now we understand how we can heal ourselves and remain healthy. Simple. 😀

As we come to know that only the five elements of nature have the ability to destroy and make the body, then we treat those five elements in a way which balances all these elements.

We can say that the body made up of five physical elements will get absorbed in the five physical elements. Among these five elements, Akash(sky/space) element is 6%, Jala(water) is 72%, Prithvi(Earth/Soil) is 12%, Vayu(air) is 6% and Agni(fire) is 4%.

Now it is said that the body can be kept healthy only with these elements. That's perfect. Suppose there is a disease in the body, then?

Simple. Disease is a condition which arises due to the fact that the five elements of the body have become unbalanced and the body gets filled with foreign particles.

What is the method to cure the disease?

The foreign particles which have gathered in the body have to be removed with the help of these five elements of nature. When the foreign matter comes out, the body will automatically become healthy. 👍🤗

The concept of five elements is derived from the Bharatiya(Sanatan) concept of Pancha Mahabhoot and is also found in other cultures, such as China, Japan, and Greece. However, there are some differences in how these elements are defined, classified, and applied in different systems of thought. Here are some examples:

A) In China, the five elements are called Wu Xing (or Wuxing), which means “five movements” or “five phases”. They are Wood, Water, Fire, Metal, and Earth. These elements are not static, but dynamic and cyclical, representing the change and transformation of nature. They are also associated with different seasons, colours, animals, organs, emotions, and directions. The Wu Xing theory is the basis of many aspects of Chinese culture, such as Feng Shui, martial arts, medicine, and astrology. 🧐

B) In Japan, the five elements are called Godai, which means “five great”. They are Wind, Water, Void, Fire, and Earth. These elements are derived from Buddhist philosophy, which again adopted them from the Bharatiya concept of Pancha Mahabhoot. They are also influenced by the Chinese Wu Xing, but with some variations. For example, Wind replaces Wood, and Void replaces Metal. The Godai theory is used to explain the structure and phenomena of the natural world, as well as the human body and mind. 😱

C) In Greece, the five elements are called Stoicheia, which means “elements” or “principles”. They are Air, Water, Aether, Fire, and Earth. These elements are considered to be the fundamental substances that make up everything in the cosmos. They are also related to different qualities, such as hot, cold, wet, and dry. The Stoicheia theory was developed by various Greek philosophers, such as Empedocles, Plato, and Aristotle, and influenced the Western science and philosophy. 🤯

As you can see, the five elements theory is a common theme in many ancient philosophies, but with different interpretations and applications. It reflects the human attempt to understand nature and the universe, and to find harmony and balance within and without. 🙏
